Eifel
An exclusive feelgood landscape introduces itself. . . .
What is Eifel? Who is Eifel? Where does it begin, where does it end? Barely anyone can answer these questions exactly. Not even the people of Eifel themselves. This characterful area, the German “Wild West”, which is still amongst the lesser-known regions of Germany, for a long time played the part of Cinderella amongst the German lanscapes. Poor, barren, raw. These were the attributes commonly ascribed to the central mountains left of the Rhine.
In the meantime this has changed considerably. The Eifel, like its inhabitants, has gained in profile and self confidence. With child’s steps the landscape has transformed from an ugle duckling into a beautiful swan in the eyes of its population and their numerous visitors.
